Laura Rooke:It seems a bit sad that these services are necessary.
Is it a necessity or a valuable service for those who have bought a smartphone which is beyond them?
All of the basic features on Windws Mobile device are there on the today screen and there was the start button for the menu system. The programs are all in one folder and the settings are on a three tabbed page.
The first difference that people notice between smartphones and standard mobiles is that menu system gives them a 'welcome screen'. 9 - 12 graphically depicted options for Media, Settings, Contacts, Messages, etc, etc. But, when go into a Smartphone, they find a menu system much like a PC.
Pass a smartphone to somebody who has grownup with computers and they will excel. Pass a smartphone to somebody who struggles with computers and they will struggle here - mainly because they relate their issues with PCs to the smartphone.
The smartphones are hugley customizable, but work perfectly in vanilla format, as long as you can adapt to this slightly differenet 'PC orientated' layout.
This service will be very important and help those who haven't adapted immidiately to the smartphone experience.
