Hi All,

i am using Windows  mobile 6.5,i am trying to connect to my laptop using wifi adhoc connection but it is never successfull. I am using Dell Latitude D630 Laptop and Window Mobile 6.5 device.

 the settings of the Ad-hoc net work are :SSID name : Test87

                                                            IP & Subnet on the device :10.2.20.7 & 255.255.255.0

                                                             IP & Subnet on the Laptop :10.2.20.9 & 255.255.255.0

                                                         Encryption :open , and no security.

But if i try to connect through the infrastructuremode it is connecting without any issue. can any one see this issue ?

Is this through the HTC Wifi sharing application or are your creating the ad hoc connection manually?

What is your default gateway set as?

For a single device I'd use the USB Internet Sharing feature. For a start it'll mean only using 3G as opposed to both WiFi and 3G which will mean much better battery life. 

no it's not HTC device , default gateway i gave null to both the devices, am using the windows Zeroconfiguration for the connectivity.

 Have you tried setting the default gateway on the laptop as the IP of the WM device?

Generally in Ad-hoc mode i never give any gateway while i am connecting only two devices, it worked all the times with the other Devices but i see this problem on WM6.5 device .
