Connecting to Diamond2 - in an endless loop

This is really strange. My Diamond2 worked perfectly with my Vista – then – all of a sudden Windows Mobile can’t connect. It keeps connecting forever and ever and doesn’t make it. I have reinstalled WM, I have disconnected my phone a thousand times, I have even follow WM’s own guidelines (opening the ports stated in the help file). But nothing helps. Its awful! Can anybody help me out?

    Hi Joe-CPH,

I take it Windows is detecting your device, and WMDC starts up, but it's stuck there at the connecting message on WMDC?

Oh yeah. Even Media Player detects the phone with the right numbers and all. I’m able to run MyMobile perfectly and can even access the files. Still – Windows Mobile keeps stating: “Connecting… connecting… connecting”

Can you try disabling the advanced connectivity options and see if that helps?

I'd probably reset the device and PC afterwards before trying to connect again.

Reset my phone? Wouldn't that erase all my stuff? Additionally: I can't se any "advanced connectivity" or something like that in WM.

Welcome to The Connection, Joe-CPH. As well as Dave's suggestions, I would also suspect a firewall or anti-virus software if you see it connecting without actually connecting.

Sorry, I meant soft reset. I.e. Power off and back on again.

The "advanced network functionality" is under Start - Settings - Connections - USB to PC.
