Webmessenger in live mail and Windows mobile messenger

Since the end of MSN webmessenger and introduction of webmessenger in live mail(webversion) every time I log in my mail account(webversion) I get a popup saying that Im signed in 2 places and my mobile phone(WM6 Samsung SGH-i600) is logged of(saying: you are signed in at another pc) So Im not signed in 2 places, but the messenger version in live mail(webversion) logged my mobile off.

Before the integration of webmessenger I never had this problem, and I was able to log in live mail(webversion) with the same account as my mobile phone uses and login webmessenger(MSN) with a different(business) account.(live passport account)

Anyone else ran into this problem?

    Welcome to The Connection, Florisz.

You can only be signed into Live Messenger in one place, and when you sign in from a new place, it will sign you out from the previous place. I thought this was true of MSN Messenger also, but I cannot fully remember as I believe this was replaced a number of years ago by Live Messenger.

I'm not sure why this has to be - I know that you can be signed into Skype on multiple devices, not sure about the other messenger programs.

Re: Webmessenger in live mail and Windows mobile messenger

Windows Live Messenger 2009 (v14) now supports multiple sign-on on the desktop.  That feature was not added to the mobile version of Windows Live Messenger.  They probably updated the web version to support the same multiple-sign-on features as the desktop version.

I never used the old web messenger, but I'd be surprised if it worked with multiple sign-in.  Did IM conversations syncronize between the mobile and the web messenger as well?

Re: Webmessenger in live mail and Windows mobile messenger

I have to explain my situation a little better.

At my mobile I'm logged in windows mobile messenger with private live account x.

At my desktop at work I want to be logged in in a webmessenger(since client version ain't available) with my business live account y.

With the old MSN webmessenger I was able to login this messenger with account y and whenerver I wanted to login live.com with my private live mail account x simultanious. Since the integration of live.com with webmessenger this is not possible anymore with Microsoft products.

I found a kind of workaround with MSN2Go, but rather use real Microsoft product(s).

I have to say that I really don't like the integration, because the contact list is a bulky live.com browser window instead of a slim contact list with online buddies as in the client version.

Are you saying that you have two separate Windows Live email addresses?
