Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
I started using Facebook Mobile on my HTC Mogul (WM 6.1) last summer and it worked fine. It saved my email address and password – all I had to do was use the link in my Favorites and I was logged in. Over the last few months, more often than not, I had to enter my password to get in. Now it happens all the time. It really makes it a pain to use Facebook Mobile now. This doesn’t happen with BrightKite Mobile or even with the Bank of America Mobile Banking web site (BOA saves my account number – I do have to enter my PIN, but it’s always been that way).
I tried another browser, Opera Mobile, but it happens with Opera, too. So, I’m thinking it’s either an issue with my phone, or a setting in my Facebook account, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what it is and how to fix it.
Please let me know if you have any ideas!

Yes, it's checked in both IE and Opera.

Re: Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
Hi Laura:
I never logout from Facebook on the desktop using the Logout link. I just close the browser (Firefox). I've always done it this way.

Re: Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
Hi, Kathleen. This is random and unscientific, but I just tested this on my Standard 6.1 phone, and I noticed that there are two ways to login to m.facebook.com: One is the default page at that URL, and the other is accessible if you scroll down and click "HTTP login." The first one didn't work with IE on my phone, but the HTTP method did. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Could FB have implemented a new login scheme that isn't compatible with IE, unless you select the HTTP method? [Edit] Forgot to mention that when I used the HTTP method, I successfully logged in. Then, I went to Task Manager, ended the IE task, and then reopened my FB 'Home' page, and I automatically went straight through, no need to login again.

Re: Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
Hi Laura:
I did try that once, it didn't help, and I ended up having to login into all my other sites again, like Brightkite.
Thank you,

Re: Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
Hi Bill:
I've been sent to the HTTP login a number of times, but even that never seemed to 'stick'. I did, however, take your other suggestion - ending IE with the Task Manager - and it seems to have worked.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and try it again in the morning.
Thanks!

Re: Why won’t Facebook Mobile save my password?
This has been nagging at me, so I did a bit more testing. Kathleen, if you haven't already tried it, one thing you might try is bookmarking your FB homepage after you've logged in. Not sure if you've been doing this or not. Go to the m.facebook.com page, click the http login button, log in, and then bookmark your "home" page - it should be a long URL that looks like "http://m.facebook.com/home.php?abcxyzqrs123....." where "abcxyz..." is a long string of numbers/letters and other stuff. I think it's just an identifier. When I followed this process, and bookmarked only that long URL, I could then completely exit IE through Task Manager, turn off the phone, then re-start and use the bookmark to go right to my homepage, without having to log in again.
