Question: What are the key differences between the BlackJack II and the Epix?
Michael
Answered: Key differences would be that the BlackJack II is Windows
Mobile Standard and the Epix and Windows Mobile Professional. This means that
the BlackJack is a non touch screen and the Epix is a touch screen device.
Question: How much memory does the device have?
Luke
Answered: The Epix has: Flash Memory: 256MB Internal ROM/ Up to 150MB
Internal RAM

Michael

Question: Does the Epix include the optional OEM components of Remote Desktop
& MSN Mobile?
Michael
Answered: The Epix does support Domain Enroll however remote desktop is
not a locally supported option. The Epix supports AIM, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger
for instant messaging features.
Question: When do you expect AT&T to have this in stores?
Michael
Answered: The Epix should be on store shelves today or tomorrow.
Question: Does Samsung plan to introduce the same device with a Windows Mobile
Standard OS? Since such a form factor has typically been used by Samsung with
Non-Touchscreen devices
Luke
Answered : We are unable to
comment on products that may be in works. Please feel free to check back on our
website for products that have launched.
Question: Will Samsung be launching this device in other countries?
Michael
Answered : It currently is already launched in other countries under a
different model number.
Question: The Epix looks like a great phone. Can you comment on the Samsung Omnia
coming to AT&T?
Luke
Answered : Thanks for the compliment. We are unable to
comment on products that may or may not be in the works. Please feel free to
check Samsung's website for products that are available.
Question: Does the Epix include a Java client?
Michael
Answered: Unfortunately, No.
Question: several questions in one big bunch :) GPS: AT&T Navigator Only or
can it be used with Windows Live Search, Google Maps, TinyTwitter etc 2mp on
camera... will there be a vNext with improved camera? Charging/Headset adapter:
why not Mini USB - makes it a harder proposition for users to change
device/carrier if they have to re-purchase accessories Hot Keys: MediaNet,
Video etc, can then be user programmed to open different apps? Optical Mouse: I
find it incredibly difficult to use on the Omnia. The BJ2 etc had
left/right/up/down/select on the D-Pad to navigate menus etc but with both the
Mirage and the Omni I've been unable to get that "one handed"
operation Will there be a >6.1 update?
Michael
Answered: I've been working on a pre-production model so it's hard to
say... currently on my pre-prod Google maps will not use GPS, but we can always
hope for the productions versions!
Question: What are the top 2 things I should demonstrate to my customer? Will
Samsung offer this phone in a different color (not black)?
Michael
Answered: Currently there is only one color... the first thing I'd show
customers (as it's the first thing I show my friends) is the optical mouse!
Followed by the touch screen/retractable stylus.
Question: Is the Epix the only Samsung device that has an optical mouse?
Michael
Answered: As to my knowledge about devices through at&t, currently,
yes...
Question: How do you get the online
discount and the rebate?
Michael
Answered: To get the discount, order the device online, once you receive
the device, it should contain rebate information.
Question: any problems with the square resolution and 3rd party apps? Many reviews
have mentioned this.
Luke
Answered: Usually when I see this happen, this is due to
people trying to use applications optimize for WM5, which do not work well in
320x320 mode.
Question: What applications come pre-installed on the Epix device?
Michael
Answered: Mobile Office (Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word),
VideoShare, IM apps - anything specific you're looking for?
Question: I don't see the size specs on the ATT site and Samsung show no info on
the Epix. How does the size compare to the BJ II? Thanks
Luke
Answered: Good question. Epix Dimensions: 4.6" x 2.4" x 0.5"
BlackJack II Dimensions: 4.4"x2.3"x.4"
Question: Are there any applications or services for ringtones or music included?
Michael
Answered: At&t Music (Shop Music, MusicID, XM Radio, and the
standard at&t music apps) are included as well as MEdiaNet services for the
downloading of ringtones
Question: Is there a virtual touch keyboard?
Michael
Answered: Absolutely! Depending on which application you are in, you can
use the on screen virtual keyboard.
