    Mobile World Congress 2/15-2/18

Is anyone else excite for MWC? I am counting down the days (9 left) until it starts, because I am anxious for any word on WM7. I have had my HTC TouchCDMA/Vogue/6900 for 2 years, and I love it. But don't get me wrong, there is only soooo many times I can hack the software, install custom ROMS, purchase a new housing, take the phone apart and reassemble with the new color, so I may get that 'new feel' out of my device. I have been hesitant to upgrade, for fear that the second I do, the HD2 will be announced for VZW or a similar phone with specs that will be upgradeable to WM7. I remember the original brainstorming of functionality of WM7; with accelerometer support along with physical touch and camera motion gestures and stabilization for application assistance, such as pulling the phone closer to zoom in/out, etc. So much expectations and claims, but no solid indication about what would be truth and what is just hopes. I have been tempted to purchase a the HTC Eris Android phone, or the new Palm Pre+ on VZW just because I think I have maxed my experience with my Vogue, and don't want to kick myself for upgrading to the Imagio or the Omnia2. Let's hope Microsoft rewards our loyalty with some great answers to our myriad questions. If you search WM7 in Bing or Google and you can see the buzz forming from "nerd" sites for people like us (lol). This article by Zdnet has some "leaked" info... but we shall see what truly comes to pass.

I'd take any rumours with a pinch of salts at the moment. MS have said there's something big coming at MWC but we've been disappointed before. Also, even if WM7 is unveiled at MWC it'll still be a fair while until we have devices shipping with it.

I am definitely taking the rumors with a large pinch of salt, as Dave says! However, at CES Robbie Bach said he's been using the next version of Windows Mobile, and that it's "not just evolutionary." So my money is on seeing some very exciting stuff!
