Has anyone found a way to make it so that if you set a ringtone to a person that it will play that ringtone when they call or text you? I've noticed that this seems to be an option that 6.5 doesn't have and I was pretty suprised that my phone will only play one default tone...

You can do this from the Edit Contact screen - there is a Ringtone field which has a selection of ringtones.

right, that does it for calls. not for text. the text tone will only play one tone. it won't change depending on whos texting me.

No, you cannot have individualized tones for text messages - don't know why - seems like it would be the same 'mechanics'.

well it seems that with the phone being so "high tec" and that option now so much that it would be there. I was really suprised that its not when basic feature phones have it as well as all of the new Blackberries. Hence why I was hoping there may be some sort of 3rd party program.

That is true. But in all respect of the iPhone, it took how long for it to even be able to do MMS messaging? I think Apple focused more on features that other phones couldnt/didnt offer vs what other phones were already capable of doing.

I think there are quite a few third party programs that do this.
