    HTC Imagio

Im a tech coorndinator for verizon wireless and i ahve a question. ive had many calls about the htc imagio and windows active sync or windows mobile device center not recognizing the device. now i have uninstalled and reinstalled sync software and checked device manager and there will be a moden driver but under usb there is no device driver at all. and in the phone i have made sure the modem link is turned off and the bluetooth is turned off and also it is set to usb only in sync settings. i cannot for the life of me get the phone to sync. i cannot locate any drivers for the phone either on microsofts website or on pcd phones website. please if someone could respond back with some advice thank you.

    Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC

Go here, if the box [ ] for enchange service functionality is checked uncheck it, or if unchecked, check it. I don't know why, but I find myself having to check/uncheck this box when i switch from one computer to the other.

Also make sure you load the version of AS or WMDC that came with the device. It may have been updated.

    Re: HTC Imagio

Tyler, were you ever able to find a solution to your sync issue? I am not familiar with the Imagio, but from a bit of reading on the Verizon Web site, I found a lot of discussion of the Wireless Sync application, which is a sync alternative Verizon offers. Does the Imagio come with this application under Programs or All Programs? You should be able to tap Start to see all your programs.

If it's there, you may need to launch it, then go to Menu > Settings > ActiveSync and enable ActiveSync for the desktop PC.

But again, I'm not looking at the phone, and this may not be relevant for you at all. Sorry I can't offer more help!

    Re: HTC Imagio

My contacts and calendar info is all on the MyPhone site. I did download the app on the phone, then it disapperaed. Verizion was able to get contacts off of old phone. But I need the rest of the outlook stuff. Very frustrating.

    Re: HTC Imagio

Not too sure why the My Phone app would disappear from your phone.

You can download it again from Marketplace.

You will need to have this installed and then you should be able to sync your contacts and calendar down from My Phone to your Imagio.

    Answer

    On the phone:

    1. Settings

    2. Advanced Settings

    3. Connections

    4. USB to PC

    5. Under ActiveSync (Sync with Outlook), UNCHECK the "Enable faster data synchronization" checkbox.

I have had both operating systems and applications refuse to sync if this is checked.

I did exactly what ChrBrown30 suggested and it took care of the issue. Thank you so much. You saved me several more hours of searching for a solution.

    Welcome to The Connection, nugget.

The two options on this page allow you to either sync your device with Outlook or have your device be treated as a USB drive if you do not want to sync your Outlook data but instead transfer a large file from device to PC or vice versa.

I am including a screen shot of this screen.
