Re: Windows Live for Windows Phone is Here
Darn it - I went to marketplace, installed the 'new' Windows Live - went to Start menu, and now I get an error when I select Windows Live - not a Pocket PC application !!!
So I deleted this shortcut , and now I am stuck without Windows Live on my new phone. I searched Microsoft downloads but the version there is dated June 24th.

Re: Windows Live for Windows Phone is Here
There should be two links:
I have a Windows phone Touchscreen (Pro) phone
and
I have a Windows phone Non-Touchscreen (Standard) phone.
They both should pop up and you should select the first option. Sorry if it doesnt work.

Laura Rooke:
Thanks Bill - I wonder if this will uninstall the current version on the device? I shall try it and see how it goes, but I am a bit scared after what happened when I downloaded it from marketplace.
Typically upgrading an application preloaded in ROM on the device simply "hides" the original version, since it can't be uninstalled.
If the app isn't actually in ROM, but installed as part of the "carrier customization" when you first fire up the device, it will be uninstalled, (but the original .cab file that installed it is still lurking in the ROM somewhere, which is interesting, but of no concern.)
At least with the direct download, (as opposed to the marketplace download) you should be able to uninstall it in "Remove Programs", which should restore the original version without the need for another hard reset. (The operative term here being "should restore...!")

Re: Windows Live for Windows Phone is Here
I found the same problems when I tried to download and install the new version of Windows Live from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. This was with a Touch Pro loaded with 6.5. It appears that the Marketplace doesn't correctly see this phone as a Pro/touchscreen device, and downloads and installs the version for Standard. However, when I used the direct link above, I was able to successfuly download the CAB for Pro directly to my phone, after which it successfully installed over the old incorrect one. Now I have just the one, working version of Windows Live in my Start menu.

Re: Windows Live for Windows Phone is Here
Is anyone else getting a random, but consistent error message with this new version of WL? I keep getting a message on my screen stating something vague like:
There was a problem. Please try again.
The message pops up and covers the entire screen with the only option being to Dismiss. When you Dismiss it, the message usaully comes back immediately 4-5 times before it finally stops. I have been getting this about 2-3 times a day for about a week and half. This is on a Verizon Touch Pro 2 with 6.1
Has anyone else seen this?
