Using A Logitech DiNovo Mini with the Touch Diamond

This should probably applies to all Bluetooth HID keyboards as well.

But anyway, I just bought a Logitech DiNovo Mini BT keyboard
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ke.../3848&cl=hk,en

I noticed that it was reporting as a typical Bluetooth HID device and thus I did the obivous thing and scanned for new devices with my Diamond. Lo And Behold it was detected! With a nice keyboard icon beside it too!

So I choose to connect to the device and then it asked me for a pass key, so I punched in the typical 0000, and the beach ball appeared.. and I waited... and waited... and waited..
    "Error establishing device!" ***!

I tried again cause I felt that it took too long to tell me that there was an error for it to be NOT WORKING :P And again I was greeted with an error.

So I scoured the net and I came across a Logitech KB article for their other Bluetooth keyboards, seems like to connect to it on Windows you'd have to TYPE the passcode on the KEYBOARD.

So again.. I got to the connection screen and then I keyed in 0000 in the diamond, pressed NEXT. Beachball came up, then I quickly typed 0000, ENTER on the keyboard.
    "DEVICE CONNECTED!"

    Woo hoo!!!

Downside is that since the keyboard doesn't have function keys, I can't access the soft menus on the screen.

Another more inconvient downside is that when the BT keyboard is connected. ALL FRONT BUTTONS on the Diamond are deactivated! Must be how the driver works. And since the DiNovo Mini doesn't have an off switch the only way to regain use of the front panel is to toggle the BT connection.

    Inconvinient? YES...
    Useful? ABSOLUTELY!!

ps. I'm pretty sure WM6 also has HID drivers so this might apply to WM6 devices as well. So if you happen to have a BT keyboard and a WM6 device, it doesn't hurt to try!

That looks like a nice mini keyboard. Thanks for this info. I have a virtual bluetooth keyboard, and the pass key works in the same manner - you have to enter it on both device and keyboard.

Yes perfect, this one was hard to figure out, as some devices have default pwd's and in some cases they can be omitted.

HTC had no clue, and Logitech themself had no clue - and they tried hard!

    Thanks for posting

Hope HTC fix that front panel issue
